In China,according to the defination of China GB standard(GB 2900.5), insulation material is material which used to keeping the electrical parts insulative from the power. That means the material is used to prevent electric current pass the electrical parts. Usually this kind of material has very high electrcial resistance about 10^6~10^19Ω•m. For example, the insulation material can prevent the loops on the rotor from the slot that it can make the motor working safely.
Simply we say, we use the insulation material to compart the electriferous part from the non-electriferous part or another electriferous part to making the electric current follow the people's willing and work.
